My Botox Appointment is Set…Now What?
Congratulations! You have decided you are ready to OWN YOUR LOOK with Botox. Now what do you do? What will they do at the office? Relax, we’ve got your covered, here is the lowdown on how a Botox Appointment works at Beautique Medical Spa.
How to Prepare for your Botox appointment and what to expect.
We need a clean canvas to work on so we will remove your makeup (for ladies) with a gentle cleanser and then wipe the area to be treated with a surgical soap. After that, we wipe the area down with alcohol. Your injector will confirm the areas to be treated and make any last-minute recommendations or adjustments. Your injector will ask you a series of questions such as:
- When was your last Botox?
- Where did you get it done?
- What did you like about your last treatment?
- What did you not like about your last treatment?
- And the MOST important…. What did you get? Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeaveau etc.
We aren’t being nosey, it’s just that the more we know about your past treatments and how you responded, the more information we have to work with to give you the best results. Keep in mind that Botox does not correct skin issues, Botox is simply used to help stop expression wrinkles that can be treated, such as Crows Feet, Glabella, and Forehead. Botox can be used for other purposes (such as migraines and excessive sweating) but that can be discussed during your consultation.
The most common side effects of Botox injections are a slight “Botox headache” and some bruising and swelling at the site of injection. We have some post instructions that we ask you follow, such as not working out the day of your appointment, do NOT drink any alcohol before your appointment or the day of. We will give you complete post-appointment instruction sheet that has Dr. Sanchez’s personal cell phone. This way you can call him anytime no matter what. We want you to know that we are always available for you.
When considering services such as Botox it’s extremely important that you choose an expert. Over the last 17 years of serving Rio Grande Valley residents we’re surprised with what clients tell us is going on in other places. Did you know that it is illegal for a location to announce that they are using Botox when they actually use other brands. That can be considered a form of bait and switch. Great care is taken to protect the integrity of Botox. At our clinic you can ask to see the box where you will see the black label and hologram indicating that it is legal product and is in fact Botox Cosmetic. So, ask your provider to show you the vials before you get injected.
The Botox Website has this to say about unlawfully claiming that a place provides Botox when they actually use another product:
“BOTOX® Cosmetic is a biologic product that cannot be interchanged – or substituted – for another product. In fact, the FDA has stated BOTOX® Cosmetic is “non-interchangeable,” which means that its safety and effectiveness cannot be claimed by any other product. The potency – or strength – of BOTOX® Cosmetic is measured in scientifically defined units, and the FDA has concluded that a unit of BOTOX® Cosmetic does not equal a unit of any other product.”
When you get your Botox, Dermal Filler or any other service at Beautique Medical Spa, you can be 100% sure that Dr. Sanchez and his team of professionals is licensed & certified. In fact, we are proud to announce that we are now Diamond Partners with Allergan. We are the only non-plastic surgery practice south of Corpus Christi that is Diamond Status. That means to you, that we have reached this distinguished honor solely through the amount of Botox and Juvéderm product we inject.
How long will the results last?
Botox results can last between 3 to 4 months, in some cases more. To ensure optimal results we always schedule your next Botox appointment and offer a Botox Club that allows you to get Botox at a special price year-round as well many other perks. You won’t have to wait for another special Botox promotion. When you join the Club you always get first access to perks and get special promotions on a quarterly basis.
