What is PRP Therapy?

PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, therapy is a breakthrough treatment that utilizes your own natural blood platelets to stimulate collagen production in the body. During a PRP treatment, your blood is drawn and placed into a centrifuge which then spins the blood to separate the platelets. Then, the platelet-rich plasma is used to help target the treatment area. At Beautique Medical Spa, we use PRP therapy in a number of ways, including hair restoration and PRP with microneedling.

PRP Hair Restoration

PRP can be used to help restore a fuller, thicker head of hair in men and women with thinning areas of hair. After your blood is drawn and separated, platelets are injected directly into the scalp. The growth factors contained in the platelet-rich plasma helps to stimulate hair growth for a fuller head of hair.

PRP with Microneedling

PRP can also be used to rejuvenate the complexion when combined with microneedling. During this treatment, microneedling is used to create small micro-wounds in the skin to stimulate collagen production. When PRP is applied to the skin as well, growth factors are introduced for optimal absorption. This treatment is known to help treat acne and surgical scars, wrinkles and lines, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, large pores, and uneven skin texture.
