Wait…That’s How Microneedling Works?!?!

Microneedling Works

Of all the clinical anti-aging treatments on the market, micro-needling, or Collagen Induction Therapy, is perhaps the most unusual in its application for creating younger skin. I supposed in a way we really are “turning back the clock” on aging. It works by using fine, acupuncture-like needles to create hundreds of tiny, invisible puncture wounds in the top layer of skin. It may not sound appealing. But this minimally invasive treatment—when done in-office by a trained aesthetician, dermatologist, or plastic surgeon—can be very effective. “The micro-injuries you create stimulates the body’s natural wound healing processes, resulting in cell turnover and increased collagen and elastin production, therefore reversing as well as preventing signs of aging. Microneedling works the same way lasers do, only you’re injuring the skin mechanically instead of using heat or light.

And the best part is that this service works beneath the surface of your skin, so downtime is minimal and you can reap all the benefits! Just a few are:

  • A visible reduction in large pores
  • Smoothing of wrinkles and filling deep lines
  • Improvement of depressed acne scarring
  • Reduction in that appearance of stretch marks (very few things are proven to treat stretchmarks)
  • Thicken the skin layers for more elasticity
  • Reduction in cellulite

While we absolutely LOVE Microneedling, there are services that we like to pair with this treatment for accelerated results. Pairing treatments can provide you with the customization your skin needs, along with helping you reach your skin goals even quicker. One of our absolutely favorite combination treatments is Diamond Glow before a Microneedling Treatment. By performing the Diamond Glow before Microneedling, we can make sure that roughness is smoothed out allowing the microneedles to move across fresh, exfoliated skin so that the needles can penetrate evenly and your skin can absorb the serums to the deeper levels of your skin.

Another favorite treatment pairing is a BeautiLight Treatment which is a combination of LED Light Therapy that helps speed up collagen production along with specific serums or masks chosen for your skin the help your skin absorb the serums better or to help your skin heal and recover faster leaving you with smoother, softer, more youthful-looking skin. So, you see, the treatment is chosen based on your skin needs. Do we need to treat texture, or help nourish your skin and help build more collagen? That is part of the process we use to create your perfectly unique protocol.

Micro-needling is so versatile it can be used on the face, neck and body! And it’s suitable for all skin types, including thin and previously lasered skin. We use a topical anesthetic, which makes the treatment extremely comfortable. But before you get any treatment done, it is important to do your homework. In the wrong hands, Microneedling can actually cause more harm than good. Veronica, our Lead Aesthetician for the past 17 years, had a client come in severely broken out. After a few questions were asked, the client told Veronica that she had gotten a Microneedling treatment somewhere else. Upon analysis, Veronica figured out why the client broke out so badly, she had active congestion, and because the congestion had not been cleared before the Microneedling session, that bacteria spread all over her face and caused her to break out badly.

So you see, it’s important to have a “clean canvas” as Veronica calls it. When you choose Beautique for your Medspa treatments you can be sure that we will be honest about whether or not a particular treatment is right for you, even if that means we have to tell you “no”. Your skin’s health is our priority and you’ll thank us in the end. Trust us. Watch the video below where Veronica is sharing the story about her client’s Microneedling experience at another practice.
