Mother’s Day is SO Much More Than A Date.

Mother’s Day was Sunday, and regardless of how you celebrated, one thing we can all agree on is that being a mom is one of the most rewarding titles you can possibly achieve in life. It’s also probably one of the hardest, most interesting, fun, and maddening things you’ll ever have to do. The highs and lows can be extreme, but the rewards that come with the smiles and laughter are unforgettable.
Motherhood can be hard, no matter how old or young your child (or children) may be, and let’s be honest- sometimes being a mom doesn’t feel like it’s enough. Whether it’s a chaotic day full of rehearsals, sports games and birthday parties or relaxed days full of sweet loving bliss a mother’s love is unique even when she isn’t always feeling it.

As mothers, we’ve all been there at some point. Waking up in the morning with a child yelling at you and grabbing for your attention. You manage to throw water onto your face (most likely without soap), brush your teeth, and looking yourself in the mirror. Taking a deep breath,  you sigh. You look tired and you feel less glamorous than you did the day before. It’s not an easy job, but someone has to do it. Finding time to feel beautiful when you have kids can be a challenge, but it’s not impossible. Taking out time for yourself and giving your body time to reset and give yourself the self-care you need is actually a very healthy thing, not selfish like most moms think.

Start simple, incorporate a beauty routine into your schedule. Even if you’re a stay-at-home mom and don’t really have to leave the house for work treat yourself right and put a little pep into your step with your favorite lipstick or mascara. It doesn’t have to be a crazy makeup routine but something to give you a little pop of color would be a nice enhancement.

If you have to pick one time of day to really get in there to make some “mommy time” then make sure to pick the evening. An evening skincare routine will change your life and not to mention the way you look! Once the kids are in bed, your prep-ahead beauty routine begins. Invest in a good face wash and follow up with a good toner. A good toner will help minimize pores, soften the skin, and ensure the skincare products will fully absorb. Next, apply an anti-aging serum. There a lot of different skin care serums that help with a variety of issues, depending on your concern and needs. For everyday use, we recommend a serum that reduces fine lines and helps even-out skin tone. Finally, follow it up with a moisturizer to lock in all those nutrients. If you follow a similar beauty regimen every night—and ideally every morning, you’ll start to see a definite change in your complexion within a couple weeks.

It’s ok to give yourself a break from the most important job in your life. Trust me, your kids will thank you for it in the long run.
Moms really do need a community for support and that is what we want for Beautique Medical Spa, to provide a community for hard-working moms everywhere.  Whatever you need we are here or you.  In the meantime please watch the video below…just make sure you have a nice box of tissue nearby and along with your phone, because you’re gonna want to call your mom.
