How Does LightSheer™ Work?

To picture how Lightsheer works, first, let’s talk a little about how your hair growth cycles work. On average every month the hair growth rate is about half an inch. Typically hair grows in cycles between 8-10 weeks. Your face, however, will have a typical cycle of 4 weeks. This might give you a better perspective on why it is necessary to continue your hair removal treatments for several sessions. Throughout these cycles, it’s important to know when is the appropriate and best time to treat. There are three stages: Anagen, Catagen, and Telogen cycle. 

Anagen Cycle – hair is visible on the surface of the skin 

Catagen Cycle – hair before it naturally falls out

Telogen Cycle – hair is not growing; resting stage 

In order for treatment to be successful, our Beautique medical professionals will treat at the Anagen cycle. However, not all hair follicles will grow at the same rate and share the same cycle, making it important to target areas with the laser more than once. How Many Sessions Do I Need?

Upon your first consultation with one of our laser hair removal experts, we will talk about the areas you are most concerned about, the type of hair, and the skin type you have. What Can I Expect At the Time of My Treatment?

At your first session, you can expect to lay down and relax. The LightSheer has two handpieces, one for the face and the other for the body. This is key because the fact that we are able to change handpieces depending on the body part we’re treating makes laser hair removal at Beautique quick and dare we say “pleasant”? While most other devices require numbing creams and can be painful, our clients can be in and out within 15 minutes for an extra small area such as an upper lip and about 45 minutes for a large back.
