FACT: YOU’LL LOVE LASER HAIR REMOVAL

First, it’s important to take a moment to understand why we love laser hair removal, especially if you’re unsure about trying it. For one, you can remove hair from pretty much any place on the body—a task that is difficult for both razors and waxing. Additionally, when you receive a series of three to six laser treatments 6 weeks apart, the unwanted hair will be significantly less for a full six to eighteen months. Razoring, which lasts a few days, and waxing, which lasts up to six weeks, certainly can’t promise that. Laser hair removal is a clear winner for several reasons.

FACT: LASER HAIR REMOVAL IS SAFE

This one is important to understand. All FDA-approved laser hair removal systems have been tested and deemed safe. However, there may be still non-FDA laser systems that are unsafe and in operation. Make sure you go to a technician that’s using an FDA-regulated laser to ensure that you don’t get hurt. Also, note that each person’s skin and hair type reacts differently to the procedure, so it’s essential to have a consultation to review your hair type, color, and thickness, as well as skin type and tone since all of these factors can determine the effectiveness of your treatment.

FACT: LASER HAIR REMOVAL IS NOT FOREVER

You’ll need several sessions for optimal results since hair grows at different times and in various cycles. The laser hair removal treatment can only remove hair that’s currently growing; any follicles preparing new hair will not be affected—and they are constantly sprouting. A series of treatments helps you hit all at the right time.

MYTH: HAIR WILL GROW BACK THICKER AFTER TREATMENT

No lasers approved by the FDA have radioactive materials. Any radiation that is generated between the laser light bars is contained within that space and will not affect you.
