Say Goodbye to Rosacea: IPL & PRP Treatments Could Help
It’s April and this month we’re all about Rosacea Awareness. Rosacea is a pesky skin condition that affects millions of people worldwide. Most commonly seen in faired-skin people. One of the most challenging aspects of dealing with rosacea is that there are different types, each with its own set of symptoms and triggers. (Read our blog on how you can identify different types of rosacea). But fret not, my friend! With the advancements in skin care technology, there are treatments available that can give you a glow-up like never before. Intense Pulsed Light and PRP are two of the most effective options for rosacea treatment.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy
IPL is a revolutionary treatment for various skin conditions, including rosacea. It works by delivering short bursts of high-intensity light to targeted areas of the skin, resulting in the reduction of redness and inflammation. With IPL you can also benefit in treating unwanted pigmentation, stimulate collagen production and reduce the appearance of pores.
During an IPL session, one of our practitioners will use a handheld device to administer pulses of light to your skin. The device emits different wavelengths of light that target specific pigments within your skin cells. The goal? After 1-2 treatments you should be able to see an improvement in your skin texture and complexion.
As you may know, rosacea is a chronic skin condition and can only be managed. Which is why it is important to keep up skin care maintenance for the longevity of the results. It is possible you may need several treatments depending on the severity of your rosacea. Sometimes our skin experts may recommend another resurfacing treatment, such as a chemical peel or microneedling in conjunction with an IPL.
Microneedling PRP
Microneedling PRP is another innovative treatment that involves using tiny needles to create micro-injuries in your skin, which triggers your body’s natural healing process. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from your blood is then applied topically to promote cell regeneration, giving you smoother and clearer skin. Microneedling offers so much with just one treatment – it’ll have you coming back for more!
PRP will help skin texture and tone, fine lines and wrinkles, skin tightening, enlarged pores, stretch marks, acne scars, surgical scars, hyperpigmentation, and the symptoms of rosacea. After your very first session you will see results. We do recommend having at least three sessions completed over the course of a few months. (Check out why microneedling PRP is the perfect skin rejuvenation treatment for all ages).
Chances are you have probably seen the bloody photos of a PRP treatment. We promise, there was minimal to no pain at all in those sessions. We provide a numbing agent and make sure all of our clients are comfortable throughout the whole treatment. Click here to listen to one of our latest testimonials and her experience with PRP.

Uncovering Your Rosacea Triggers
One of the most important steps in managing rosacea is figuring out what triggers it for you. Common triggers include spicy foods, alcohol, sun exposure, stress, and certain skincare products. Keep a journal to track your symptoms and note any potential trigger factors.
Once you’ve identified your rosacea triggers, take preventative measures to reduce their impact on your skin. Avoiding spicy foods or limiting alcohol consumption can make a big difference in preventing flare-ups. Protecting your skin from sun exposure by wearing hats or using sunscreen will also help keep symptoms at bay.
Taking control of these triggers means the more successful you will be with an IPL and PRP treatment. Remember that while rosacea may be chronic, you can manage it long term.
